Good Evening and welcome. I’m Joni! the Executive Director of the Business & Education Alliance. This event is especially rewarding each year. To put it mildly, it’s similar to coordinating a wedding for 200 guests and being solely responsible for getting it done – at the last minute! Good thing I wasn’t responsible for the Royal Wedding! The Serenity Prayer comes in very handy during this time of year! If you aren’t familiar with The Serenity Prayer, Cheverly & Jon Richardson gave us a glimpse of it in their congratulatory message to their daughter Judith in the Program Booklet. Thanks for sharing – I needed that!

I’ve finally achieved the 2011 dinner and can almost turn the remainder of the night over to the MC’s and our hosts to celebrate appropriately. Just a few more “logistics” I need to impart.

IF you have NOT already provided the original US Savings Bond Forms and other “necessary” paperwork I requested, please make sure you give them to me before you leave. You will receive the US Savings Bonds as soon as the US Treasury decides to mail them to you. If it’s like waiting for your tax return money, you have awhile to wait. I’m pleased to finally meet you all (if I haven’t already) and VERY pleased that you could all join us this evening.

Special The Distinguished Student award is an incredible honor to you all. An award you should be especially proud and honored to have received. If there are ANY SPELLING changes you would like on the information you receive this evening please let me know as soon as possible and I will make the changes.

I would like to thank our signature sponsors – Flemington Car & Truck Country and The Somerset Patriots – Steve & Suzanne Kalafer – for ALL they have done for the Hunterdon County community over the years! I’d also like to thank PNC Bank, Frank Fuzo, for their generous contribution to tonight’s awards dinner. I would like to recognize Rosalie Lamonte, HC Executive Superintendent of Schools – as well as several other Counties in NJ.

Special thanks to the Hunterdon County Polytech Culinary Arts students for their “distinguished” contribution in making tonight a huge success. Without their continuing support, we would all go hungry! Thanks to Frank Peluso, our photographer – for the photos he will be taking this evening and the ones you will receive in the mail. I’d like to recognize Mary Ellen Pilch, President of the H.C. School Boards Association who will be presenting the Matthew Smith Memorial Scholarship Award later this evening.
