Good Evening and welcome. I’m Joni Krieg, the Executive Director of the Business & Education Alliance. I’m very pleased that you could all join us this evening.
I would like to thank our signature sponsors – Flemington Car & Truck Country/The Somerset Patriots and Commerce Bank – in particular Steve & Suzanne Kalafer – for their partnership and support of The Alliance and its programs. Without their continuing support, we would not be here this evening.
In the interest of schedules for this evening, I’d like to introduce Senator Lance at this time. Thank you Senator Lance.
Now I’d like to introduce our Hunterdon County Freeholders: George Muller, Erik Peterson, and Matt Holt. Thank you Freeholders.
Change is a “constant” – good, bad or indifferent – depending on how you choose to view it. I choose to call them “blessons” (part blessing, part lesson). Every change is a change we hopefully learn from.
There have been many changes over the past year: Polytech’s move to their Hunterdon Central campus and us trying to work out and coordinate tonight’s dinner. 8th Grade class trips, a retirement dinner, and a School Board’s dinner, are all happening tonight. However, I think we have an excellent turnout. Where there’s a “will”, there’s a “way”. Please don’t ever forget that. There will be obstacles in the road on the way, but we’ll always figure out how to get over them, under them, or around them in order to succeed. I think we worked out this year’s obstacles in order for us to celebrate a “Distinguished” evening.
At this time, I would like to thank Jonas Gold, a Polytech Culinary Arts graduate, for putting together our dinner this evening, and the Culinary Arts students for their welcome participation and assistance. Let’s give them a big round of applause.
I’d like to introduce Frank Dragotta, Hunterdon County Superintendent of Schools, and Steve Kalafer for the awards presentations. (Please view the remainder of the website for the award recipients and pictures).
